Sunday Grains of Gratitude.......

The weeks are just rushing by - I can't believe it is Sunday again already - and it wasn't even a long weekend or anything (although I am totally anticipating a fabulous long weekend coming up ;) What a week it has been though - full of good moments, sad moments, and some not so great news coming to light. But, through it all, I have so much to be grateful for :)

This week I am grateful.....

that my Uncle Gordon could be surrounded by his family as he passed on and that he was more comfortable. He was the most amazing man, and I will never forget his goodness, his smile and friendliness and how his eyes always twinkled :) He was so positive and fun and funny. He will be missed.

that I got to see my big girls this week :) C came home to study one day unexpectedly and it was fun to just see her :) Big K came home after work yesterday and we visited for a bit and she called and talked to me for about a 1/2 hour earlier in the week. I just love them so!!!

that Brady did so great in the school concert on Thursday :) I'm such an anxious parent LOL I always wonder if he will be too overwhelmed by all the people/lights and not do the songs or actions, and sometimes he is, and doesn't participate as well, and sometimes he isn't and does it all :) This was one of those 'does it all' nights and it was grand to watch :) He was sooooo excited to go and to be a part of everything and be with his friends - he loves them so! If I can get the video downloaded I will put it on here so you can all see my cute boy :) He loved every minute of the concert and even though none of us had initially wanted to attend (last minute notice from the school, busy day etc....) I am so grateful we did - even Little K had fun for her song ;)

that the hubs and I got to the temple on Wed. night. It was a free night (the only one this week) and ended up being ward temple night and the hubs called last minute and asked if I wanted to go. Of course I always want to go to the temple - but - it was our only free night, so I also really wanted to stay home and veg out too :) I am grateful that we went, it was a good experience and I always love the spirit and the quiet reflection I get in the celestial room. I am grateful we went!

that J, H, and Little K were so great to tend Brady while we ran around to various activities. They are such great big brothers and sisters - and people are always telling me how awesome they are with Brady. The boys are so good to go and help out with cub scouts (so many in his troop with only 2 leaders, it is nice to have an extra set of hands to help Brady out sometimes). H sat with him at the concert with his friends - so grateful for him to always be so willing to help his little bro out! Little K always waits with him in the carpool lane and keeps him safe - since he sometimes thinks he should climb into any car that looks like ours ;) We are working on that LOL I am really grateful for my kids, and how much they love Brady and really want him to be successful - just like each other. When I hear of different attitudes that having a child with special needs will ruin your other children - I always look to my own kids, and really feel that is a cop out excuse and load of hooey ;) I know my kids have times where it is hard to have a little brother with special needs, but I also see how much joy they find in him, and the amazing things they have learned from him, and what better people they are - more accepting, compassionate, tolerant, and aware of all different types of people. I know they appreciate diversity more, and notice the small things, and celebrate the accomplishments of everyone. I think it has made them more aware of so many things. I am grateful for their love and support for him, and that I know they will love him and care for him if there ever comes a time that I cannot :) And, they all know that their future spouses must pass the Brady-test, as well - so anyone out there seriously considering making a run for those positions - just remember that LOLOL

that the hubs and I also got our Valentine's date yesterday!!! Whooo hoooooo :) I know, I know - Valentine's Day isn't til Monday - but - it's family night, and I am helping in Brady's class for his party - so that date thing was just not going to happen for V-day - so we did a little early date ;) A play, Texas Roadhouse for a yummy steak - with the man I love more than anything - what could be better!!!

for my mom and dad :) Soooo excited that we are going to see them this weekend and that they made a big sacrifice to make that happen. I love them soooo much! I could not have asked for better parents - and I cherish every minute I get to spend with them! They are wonderful!!! Travel safe Mom and Dad!!!!

What are YOU grateful for this week?
