Sunday Grains of Gratitude.....

Grains of Gratitude

Another week down, another week closer to the end of the school year - yippeeeeeee!!!! I am so excited I can barely stand it ;) I so love summer vacation!!!! It's been a busy few weeks with lots going on with kids and school and work :) So - I am grateful for a Sunday - and for a day of rest :)

This week I'm grateful......

that C and the hubs were safe as they did their last dives for the scuba certification! I think they thought it was very very cool :) What a fun experience for them - definitely not my cup of tea - but they really wanted to do it :)

that we worked out the little hiccup at school for Brady and that he did pretty well in his first grade program. He was a little silly, and by the time it was over he was kind of overwhelmed, but overall he did a pretty good job, even if he didn't sing all the songs and do all the actions, that I KNOW he knows :) Even if he did think they were done before they were and take his bows and wave and tell everyone good-bye and thanks for coming ;) And that his aide was so great to chase him down and support him to help him finish the program. She has been wonderful to him this year, and we will miss her :)

that Big K is so thoughtful and brought me a much needed Diet Coke and candy bar when I was having a bad day :) And - she did dishes and took her little bro and sissy to the library too. She was so thoughtful this week :)

that we could do the a walk as Brady's Bunch to advocate for our cute guy :) It is kind of like the Buddy Walk, but for kids with all kinds of disabilities :) A couple years ago a baby was born into our group and I discovered she is the daughter of a man who I used to babysit when he was just a baby himself :) I loved his family - they are so awesome, and they are also the founders of the group that put on the walk :) He was pretty young when I went off to college so he doesn't remember me, but his older sisters do, and I got to see one of them at the walk yesterday. It was so great - she is a mom of three now, and all grown up :) I'm grateful that Brady and Aubrey brought us back together :)

that school is almost out - yippeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

that C is graduating this week and I get to see my parents!! I have missed them!!! I can't believe she is old enough to graduate and move out - where does the time go? But, she is so excited and I am excited for her!

What are YOU grateful for today???

It just goes to show how influential media really is ;)

in the life of our children - and especially Brady ;)

So - when Brady lost his first two teeth a couple months ago, I tried to explain to him about the tooth fairy - get him all excited etc..... I got a - well - blank stare. I mean, really, how do you explain such things to a little boy who takes a while to get things that are tangible, let alone things that aren't LOL

But - what comes on the scene but The Rock - with his Tooth Fairy movie...... taaaa daaaaaa.......

So - Brady has had another tooth that is super loose and he keeps wiggling it and saying "tooth fairy, tooth fairy" - last night - it fell out. When and where - well - we're not sure - maybe we'll find it - maybe not - but he came up to me and pointed and said "Tooth fairy, Tooth fairy"......

I guess you can never underestimate the power of media ;)

Of course he thinks the tooth fairy is a 6' 4" buff hockey player with wings - but hey - whatever works - right ;)

Brady's Bits......

Ahhhh - my boy is such a character. I came home from running errands the other day to Big K in the kitchen with a frazzled look on her face - she promptly said - your son is a menace ;) Yup - Brady is feeling better. And - a better feeling Brady = a more creative and mischievous Brady - who might be a little prone to making messes in his "independence"........

So - a few of Brady's Bits from this week.......

Brady likes to snuggle in bed when he gets up in the morning - with me - as does his daddy ;) Things are totally fine when I am snuggling Brady and the hubs is snuggling me - but turn the tables.... Imagine in your mind - me snuggling my hubby, and Brady comes over with his big grin - first he puts one foot between us, then another foot then sits down on my head until I move enough that he can wiggle his little body in between us. Laughing all the time - I might add ;) Then I wrap one arm around him and keep one on the hubs back. Well - what do you think my little stinker does - he smiles mischieveously and takes my hand on the hubs back and wraps it around him :) I put it back, he takes it again. What a stinker ;)

The other day Brady brought me a big box of Goldfish and asked me for some. Since it was kind of late a night, I didn't really think he needed any - but told him to go get a bowl figuring that was too much work and he would just forget about it....... Ummmm - I was wrong. I was typing at my computer and a little engrossed but I turn around and he has pulled a stool over to the counter and has climbed up and is proceeding to "look" for a bowl - with two glass plates in his hands ready to drop on the floor because they aren't the "perfect" bowl..... Luckily I was in time to avert that little disaster ;) Bowl and fishies were fetched and fun was had by all......

Which leads to this mornings adventure..... Remember how Brady is NOT a morning person? Seriously - every single school morning I am literally helping him undress in his sleep and get in the tub and shoveling breakfast into his half-asleep little mouth. Well - weekends - ummm - a different story...... He's been up by 7 - why? why? I ask you - cause we don't really want to be up at 7 ;) So - this morning - I hear him go by in the hallway. I'm thinking, half asleep about that goldfish box on the counter, but thinking, maybe he'll just go put on a movie. I hear some Disney music and not much else..... I figure if he'd opened the goldfish box we'd have heard it.... But - it is awfully quiet....... So I poke my snoring sleeping husband (his alarm has already gone off twice - seriously - he must need to get up anyway.......) and ask him to go check and make sure the fishies are still swimming in their box..... He comes back - yup - too late :) I come out to see Brady sitting in the middle of a perfect circle of goldfish rockin' out to Cinderellie Cinderellie......

And - did I mention how good he is getting at getting undressed?

We are sooooo in trouble.........

Sunday Grains of Gratitude......

Grains of Gratitude

Today I am grateful.......

that we traveled safely to all our soccer games this week - in miserable weather ;) Wins would have been nice - but hey - you can't win everything - right? The girls played really hard, and that is what matters - right???

for my kids - they are wonderful :)

for my hubby - he is wonderful :)

for a furnace that works - no air conditioning this week - brrrrrrrr!!!!

for friends who walk with me ;) and go out for lunch with me :)

for my life - it is good :)

that Brady stayed in his own bed last night - maybe it's a new trend????

What are you grateful for today????
