Brady, Brady, Brady......

My family is full of night owls - well - minus me - I'm kinda a middle of the day person - not a night owl and definitely not a morning person. But - all my kids - they are night owls. I have long dreamt of the child who happily toddles off to bed at 7 p.m. So far I'm 0 for 6...... I guess they get it from their dad ;)

But - no matter what time Brady falls asleep - usually in our bed, and then we remove him to his own - he usually makes his way back into our bed around 4:30 a.m.

We get up and read scriptures around 6 or 6:15 and leave him to sleep a bit longer - since, we tried the scripture thing and he just lays on anyone he can find and just keeps sleeping, so he might as well be comfortable, hey?

But - the last few mornings we have forgotten to turn off our alarm after we hit snooze for the umpteenth time. And - each morning when we come up to wake Brady up for a shower and breakfast, where do we find him? In OUR bed with the alarms going off?

Nope......

I guess those pesky alarms must be bothersome because he has taken himself back to his own bed where apparently it is quieter....

Maybe we should set our alarms to go off at 4:45 and he'd take himself right back to bed in the middle of the night too ;)

Definitely something to think about ;)

You would think that with six kids....

and almost 20 years of parenting under my belt (is that what's making me fat????) I would know better than to ask certain questions.......

apparently not.......

Yesterday at church, Brady was being. a. PILL...... So - I sat him on my lap for a whispered heart to heart.... After talking to him for a couple of minutes, I asked him this..... silly me - I should have known the answer already.....

Me.... "Okay Brady are you going to be good or naughty........."

Brady - with a smile on his face......... "NAUGHTY!!!!"

Brady's Bits......

Brady has been pretty funny lately. I can only imagine how hilarious he would be if he didn't have such huge communication delays :)

The other day my parents were visiting.... We told him it was time for bed..... We ask him - mom's bed or Brady's bed...... He gets this sly look on his face, smiles hugely and says - GRANDPA's bed :) Then cracks himself up........

Apparently he does learn things just from watching other kids - we hear a lot of - gimme gimme gimme and give that to me - it's MINE...... I'm wondering where those good manners I taught him went??????

We ask him what he wants for dinner/lunch/breakfast - give him some choices - and invariably he says - MCDONALD's........... or comes up with some other unhealthy choice we didn't give him in the first place :)

I guess he's a "real" boy now....... ;) I can hardly wait til he figures out the farting and belching thing - that will be entertaining ;)

I hear it's a special day for you guys!!! HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

Note to self.......Have more sympathy for the kids when they are sick....

cause I just might catch it too.......

Yup - nasty stomach virus 6 -1, and I am so hoping that last one skips it........ Brady is still suffering it's effects :( At least the puking is over - although I'm not sure that the "other" isn't as bad - it certainly is more often :( Poor guy......

Here's praying he kicks this soon, cause it ain't pretty :(

Sunday Grains of Gratitude......

It's Sunday - and I would really like to get back into my habit of weekly gratitudes - hopefully this is the beginning of that new goal ;) Maybe I should start my New Years resolutions in April and they might work out better LOL

This week I'm grateful.......

that my niece and her family came and visited us! It was SOOOOO great to see them and spend time together - my kids just adore their cousins and since we live so far away and we don't get together as often as we would like - it was super to have them come stay!!!

that General conference was so uplifting, as usual :) I didn't get to see as much as I usually do - so I will be happy when it comes out in the Ensign next month :)

that it was spring break this week - yayyyyy! I love it when school is out!!!!

that we got to go away and stay at my parents winter place in the sun!!!! The weather was fabulous and it was sooo nice to get away and relax :)

that Brady is feeling better and that the nasty NASTY stomach virus he had doesn't seem to be as nasty in the other two family members who've come down with it. He always seems to get things a little worse than everyone else - poor guy! But - he seems to be doing better, so I am hoping he will be up for school tomorrow - he has missed so much this year :(

that we are home safe and sound. Even though I'm not looking forward to getting back to real life - it just doesn't sound fun ;)

that Big K will be coming home from college next week - yayyyyy! We sure have missed her!!!

Spring Break 2010 :)

Ahhhh - there is nothing better than a spring break getaway :) The sun has been fabulous and the company fantastic :) ha ha ha We've done a bit of this and that - hiking, laying out at the pool and the "beach", playing in the red sand, golfing, shopping, watching cable tv to our hearts content (that is a novelty for us ;), and going to movies - it's been a BLAST!!!!



The start of our hike - Brady hiked about 1 mile of the 1 1/2 miles we did, over lots of rocky terrain :) He did GREAT!

SAND DUNES!!!! We told Brady we were going to the beach and he kept running from one dune to the next looking for the ocean - ooops - we should have specified just sand :( He finally gave up after the 6th dune and coming across a field of sage brush. Poor guy - but we made it up to him ;)


He loved being buried :)

Now we made it to a beach - not THE beach - but - it sufficed :)

Unfortunately poor Brady has come down with a stomach virus :( Poor guy - hopefully it's a quick one and he will be back to himself asap - for now we are just hanging out watchin' spongebob and snuggling - the only thing that would make that better would be if he was feeling better. Keepin' my fingers crossed!!!!!
