First stop - Maui!!!!!
We went snorkeling at Molokini - it was a gorgeous day - the water was soooo clear - it was amazing! When were were in Maui 13 years ago we had planned to go out to Molokini, but the conditions were too rough so we didn't get to go - so this was a treat!!! The water is so bouyant in Hawaii - you practically just float - it was amazing snorkeling - such bright colored fish - I saw a bunch of Dories AND sea turtles!!!!

Black sand - AMAZING!!!!

We had to stop in at the old churches - for sure! They are almost as cool as the ones in Europe :)

Old Lady Hula Dancers - what could be more welcoming???
Photobucket
And - C couldn't resist the surfers ;)

Photobucket

Next Stop - Kona - other side of the Big Island!
Ironman C!!!!

Photobucket
This was the only port that we tendered in - so we had a nice seaside view of the ship!

Photobucket

We went on the most amazing shore excursion - Kaptain Zodiac Raft - it was a BLAST!!! We saw dozens of dolphins and went snorkeling in the most amazing bay (by the Captian Cook monumnet). The coral there was huge and gorgeous and colorful - better than anywhere else we've snorkled in Hawaii (or Mexico). It was sooooo cool! The little spinner dolphins were everywhere and they were so cute!

And, as we were pulling away from port - we glimpsed the tip top of the Kona Temple through the trees :)

Photobucket
Final Stop - Kauai!!!! Love, loved, LOVED Kauai - we will definitely be back here someday :)
C's dream for this trip - sit and bake in the sun, learn to surf, and go scuba diving! We were pretty well baked (some of us burned to a crisp) by this point - must be time for surfing lessons ;)

Not bad for not surfing for 25 years ;)

Photobucket
C got up her first try :)

Photobucket
and for the last surf of the day, went right onto the beach, and picked up her board :)

Photobucket
You'll notice there are no pictures of ME surfing ;) Well - I did try, but this ol' gal is just too weak to do more than 10 pushups to pop up on that board :) Maybe next time around ;)

Photobucket

We even found a Hawaiian knight in shining armour for K ;)

Photobucket

Leaving Kauai!!! The Na pali coastline - only accessible by boat was soooo amazing. We will miss Kauai!!!

Waikiki - super happening place - but I think we've spent enough time there :)

Photobucket
Hanauma Bay - the snorkeling was okay here - but NOTHING like Molokini or at Kona!

Photobucket

Photobucket

We saw a MONGOOSE!!!!!

Photobucket

After snorkeling at Hanauma, we climbed Diamondhead Crater. The last 100 steps are killer - my thighs may never be the same :) C said it would be a good soccer workout :)
