I would be so remiss if I didn't post today, as I have so many many MANY things in my life to be thankful for right now :)
This week I'm grateful.....
that my brother is recovering from his accident. I haven't posted much about it here on my blog, as I've become something of a facebook junkie - but - on June 30th, my brother was in a terrible boat accident, where he was essentially run over and crushed by a forklift launching his boat. He suffered severe injuries to head, neck, back, chest, lungs, arm and leg - 3 broken vertebrae in his neck, 3 in his back, 5 broken ribs, broken collar bone, severe bruising of his lungs (already damaged and scarred from radiation from when he had cancer in his 20's), severe skull fracture, blown ear drums, shattered elbow and ankle. He has been in ICU for 2 1/2 weeks now, but is improving and the doctors think he will make a full recovery. I am grateful for the hand of the Lord in his survival and for all the prayers on his behalf from friends and family and friends of friends, and so many people who don't even know him.
that my older sons and the hubs could go rafting for a few days on a father/son outing. They had a fabulous time together, and they were safe while rafting and are home safely :) I am grateful for such a good hubby who loves to do things with his kids :)
that we got the house relatively clean for the Bridal Shower that Big K threw for her good friend who is getting married in a couple of weeks. I love it when the place is clean. Of course I had to clean the bathrooms the boys have been cleaning for the last 6 months - and let's just say - I hope their future wives are better cleaners than they are ;)
that Brady is swimming better :) He still can't do real strokes, but he is getting stronger and can swim longer distances - like from the end of the diving board he likes to jump off of - to the side :) He is starting to put his head under more for swimming, even when it's deep (before he would only put it under if he could touch the bottom) so I think by the end of the summer he will be doing great - if I can keep taking him to the pool on a regular basis :)
that Little K is such a great big sister to Brady. She is so great at working with him, and he loves her so much. She was gone at a birthday party and playing with friends all day yesterday and he was so lonely without her. He loves her so very much!
that the weather has been fantastic :) I love hot, sunny, summer days! They are the best!!!
that my sister is coming into town this week :) I get to see her two times in one year - it's a record :) I love her to pieces!
for my family - they are the best - I love them all so very, very much!
What are YOU grateful for today????
