Okay - here's the deal - Brady hasn't gone back to school yet - not because I'm keeping him home because I don't want to send him (although I don't....) but because he keeps telling me he feels sick.
So, while I don't really think he has the skills or understanding to fake/lie...... there's always the chance that I could be underestimating him LOL It definitely wouldn't be the first time. He could just love sleeping in and hanging with mom and watching movies ;) I know that's what I'D prefer to do every day - over work that is!!
It snowed allll day yesterday, and I was more than happy to oblige and not have to go out in the wintery mess! Sooooo - we stayed in our jammies most of the day and just hung out and had a low key day.
Today we go meet the new pediatrician, and I guess she can weigh in on whether she thinks he's really sick or not ;) I do think he has a sinus infection, and if his headaches are anything like mine right now, I know exactly what he's talking about.... I can't decide if these off and on migraines of mine are sleep disturbance related, sinus related, or stress related - all I know is - I haven't had so many in such a short time for years, and it starting to cramp my style :( Brady has had some congestion and really slept poorly on Sunday night, but has done better the last couple of nights - soooo - who knows. Sometimes his illnesses and behaviors are just mysteries to me.......
Hopefully maybe our new ped. can lead us in the right direction - and be a little more willing to try and tackle Brady's sinus problems - there has to be something to help with them - right????
So - hopefully my "sick" little boy (who runs around and played quite well all day) will feel better soon!!!! Then we can start back to school - whoooopeeeee..........

This is Joyce. Oh it so hard trying to read between the lines isn't it. I can tell you there have been more than a few times in Sarah's years that she figured out to say she was sick to avoid going to school. What worked for us was to tell her "ok you can stay home, but you must get dressed and no movies." One day of that and she was willing to go back to school.
as much as I would love to gush about a cure for sinus issues... I cannot! But if you find one, please let me know!
Your boy is too stinking cute - how could he not want to be home with mommy??
Hmmm...ya think?
Brady's a smart guy, and he knows a good deal when he's got one. Emma won't say she's sick to stay home from school, but she does pretend to be sick sometimes. Whenever she has croup, we put her steroid pills in chocolate pudding to make them easy to take. Sometimes, we'll hear her cough, and she'll come to us with a pathetic look on her face, and ask in a woeful, sickly voice for chocolate pudding. I always have to leave the room to laugh at that one!
Sorry about your migraines. I hate the darn things! I haven't had one since my neurologist started me on a preventive - have you tried that?
I've got one like that. She begs to stay home, then acts completely fine. But in her defense her tonscils are the size of golf balls when she is complaining. Good luck with the new Ped and I hope your migraines drift away.
I read your post before this one too, and I thought I was busy. I have had to make lots of appointments this week too. Tim has a ent, eye, and his remecade iv therapy. oh and a dentist appt that is due in march. the other kids have dentist appt today my son is going through some rough times so I put him back in counseling, I really think he has ADHD I have thought that for 6 years now but, just contributed his behavior to other things so we are getting an evaluation, I have to pay for Savannah's three dance competition that are in the spring but need the money now. our roof is leaking and will cost 2300 dollars so, yes My money tree does not seem to grow either. remember what you have told me before never under estimate these kids. Brady's school situation sounds so much like Mariah's. it can be so frustrating.
hugs

I used to play sick to get out of school (ie hated PE or whatever I was doing to so I called and had some one picked me . Who knows maybe I will wright about it I agree with Sarah's mom onhow to do it. It worked well for me
If he is playing well today I think he could be able to attend school tomarrow
uh, yeah. Nash has been known to cough until he throws up at school once, I pick him up, then he comes home and runs around, wants to play basketball, and watch movies.
so is the faking possible? uh, yeah. Hope he feels better soon, or you run out of patience! hee
